Private equity is currently one of the fastest growing and most profitable sectors in finance. Established private equity firms are enjoying record earnings, as new investments in PE funds have been increasing almost seventy five percent each year.

The Goldman Sachs Private Equity Case Competition (GSPECC) offers a unique platform for undergraduate students to explore private equity opportunities by selecting a target company and conducting their own buyout analysis. The competition is a great opportunity for students to interact with professionals from the industry. The competition will comprise of two rounds to help students structure and develop their buyout proposals. There will also be an informative workshop to guide students on LBO valuation techniques. Top teams will have the opportunity to showcase their buyout analysis before judges from Goldman Sachs Principal Investment Area (PIA) group and other PE firms. The team with the best case analysis will also receive a cash price of $400.

The Competition is sponsored by Goldman Sachs and is organized by the Phi Gamma Nu Business Fraternity, an organization which has seen great success in hosting major pioneer professional events such as the Annual Internship Fair.
